Over 1,000 Russian Attacks Reported in Zaporizhzhia Region in One Day

In a single day, Russian forces conducted over 1,000 strikes in the Zaporizhzhia region, resulting in damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure. Local authorities reported 70 incidents of destruction, including 17 aerial assaults, 787 drone attacks primarily using FPV drones, 10 strikes from multiple launch rocket systems, and 255 artillery shellings.
These attacks were recorded in Zaporizhzhia city, as well as in the surrounding Zaporizhzhia and Polohy districts.
Context
- Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian occupying forces have seized parts of the Zaporizhzhia region. In October 2025, Russian Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov informed the illegitimate President Vladimir Putin about ongoing military operations towards Zaporizhzhia.
- The Ukrainian military intelligence indicated that capturing the entire Zaporizhzhia region is one of Russia’s objectives for 2026.
