Mihai Bobonete Optimistic After Universitatea Craiova’s 1-1 Draw

Mihai Bobonete, a 46-year-old comedian and recently appointed minority shareholder of Universitatea Craiova, reacted after the team drew 1-1 with Ararat-Armenia in the Europa League playoff match.
The return match is scheduled for next Thursday at 19:00 in Yerevan.
Regardless of the outcome of this two-leg tie, the Romanian champions are assured of a spot in the Conference League.
Bobonete was present at the Ion Oblemenco Stadium, sitting in the VIP box alongside Mihai Rotaru, the majority shareholder of Universitatea Craiova. Despite the draw not favoring the Oltenians, the minority shareholder expressed confidence that the team will overturn the score in the second leg. He also commented on Nicușor Bancu, who scored the equalizer in the 33rd minute.
Mihai Bobonete: “The Result is Good Under the Circumstances”
“The result is good under these circumstances. I think it was one of the best starts to a match in the last five games. I am satisfied. I didn’t notice that they booed Baiaram,” Bobonete stated as he left the stadium.
He went on to say, “I believe we will beat them in the return match in Yerevan. Nicușor Bancu scored for us; I spoke with him today before the match. He joked about making a big impact, and he did, which made me very happy for him. If he had scored a second, I would have made him the godfather at my golden wedding!”
Bobonete became a minority shareholder at Universitatea Craiova during their last European match against KuPS at the Oblemenco Stadium. Since then, he has voiced his ambition: “My objective is to bring some of the love I receive from my fans to Universitatea Craiova. That is truly the purpose of my involvement here.”
