Dinamo Negotiates Key Contract Extensions for Soro and Bellaarouch

Cosmin Mihalescu, the sporting director of Dinamo, addressed the current situations involving two crucial players in Nuno Campos’ squad: Alberto Soro and Alaa Bellaarouch. Soro’s contract is set to expire next summer, while Bellaarouch has not yet been permanently acquired by the club, which needs to activate a release clause.
In an interview with 48TV, Dinamo’s official channel, Mihalescu confirmed that the club is in discussions to extend Soro’s contract, which both parties desire. He also noted that Dinamo has until the end of the season to finalize their decision regarding Bellaarouch. The goalkeeper has impressed with his skills, but the club seeks assurance of his consistency and performance before making a final call.
Current Status of Alaa Bellaarouch: “The Decision is Ours”
Brought in this summer from Braga as a backup, Bellaarouch quickly made a name for himself after a standout performance in Giulești, earning a spot in the Liga Profesionistă de Fotbal’s Team of the Week. Dinamo has him on loan from Braga and must pay a €500,000 release clause to secure his services permanently.
“Alaa hasn’t played yet. We must distinguish: at what level hasn’t he played? There are players who have played at a certain level, and while they might be regarded as very good, some haven’t played at that level yet can still excel in Romania. We’re talking about teams with resources and clubs that manage players worth millions, like Strasbourg or Braga. In the matches he has played, it’s clear he has the potential to be significant for any Romanian club,” Mihalescu explained.
“The fact that they there believed he didn’t have the potential to become a starter… Let’s understand the level, both at Braga and Strasbourg. We have a comfortable timeline to make the payment, by the end of the season. Let’s ensure there’s consistency and continuity. The qualities are evident, and it’s our decision; it’s in our hands. Whenever we deem it necessary, he’ll be ours.” – Cosmin Mihalescu, Sporting Director of Dinamo
Will Alberto Soro Extend His Stay at Dinamo?
Soro signed with Dinamo in the summer of 2024 but initially struggled to establish himself, even being loaned out to Chaves in Portugal’s second league. His breakthrough came last fall when he scored the game-winning goal against CFR Cluj at the Arena Națională, solidifying his role as a key player. This season, he has netted two goals against Universitatea Craiova and Oțelul Galați.
“Alberto doesn’t have a renewal clause. I believe he demonstrated, especially in the latter half of last season and at the beginning of this one, that he is an important player for us, and we wish to keep him longer. He is at a pivotal moment in his life, about to become a father in a few weeks, and he enjoys living in Bucharest. We hope he continues, and he wants to continue, and we are in talks about this,” Mihalescu said regarding the Spanish player’s situation, whose contract will expire next summer.
