Odessa Begins Unveiling Duke Monument After Four-Year Covering
In Odessa, the process of uncovering the Duke monument has commenced after being covered for four years. According to Alexander Avdeyev, a member of the Odessa City Council, local deputies gathered on Primorsky Boulevard on Sunday to personally remove the protective coverings. The Duke statue is set to once again overlook the sea, serving as a reminder that despite daily Russian attacks, Odessa continues to live, work, and endure.
Previously, during a municipal executive meeting, it was suggested that the restoration work not wait for tenders and contractors but be undertaken by the city council factions themselves. There remains much to be done, as the current condition of the monument is still unclear. Meanwhile, the city is actively working on the restoration of Primorsky Boulevard.
