The European Union has introduced sanctions against five Russian executives involved in the production of military equipment, specifically targeting those who hold significant positions in companies operating within the defense and military technology sectors.
According to a statement, these individuals are associated with the development, manufacturing, or supply of military technologies and equipment utilized by the Russian armed forces in their ongoing conflict.
Among those sanctioned are Ramil Badgutdinov, the general director of the Serpukhovsky Plant “Metallist,” a firm known for producing systems used in the Iskander-M ballistic missile. Additionally, Alexander Dyukarev, the general director of the Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant, which manufactures ballistic missiles for the RS-28 Sarmat complex, has also been targeted.
The sanctions extend to other leaders of Russian firms engaged in developing military communication systems as well as software for drones and space military technologies. As part of these measures, their assets will be frozen, and they will be banned from entering the EU.
