Victor Angelescu Provides Update on Rapid București’s Transfer Plans

Victor Angelescu, the president and minority shareholder of Rapid București, has shared the latest updates regarding the club’s transfer campaign. The team, known for its white and violet colors, is looking to secure two additional players, including a central midfielder from Genoa, a club owned by Dan Șucu, whose signing appears imminent.
Additionally, some players from head coach Daniel Pancu’s squad are expected to depart. Angelescu addressed the potential departure of Alex Dobre, who has been rumored to have offers from Turkey. In the recent “feroviar” derby against CFR Cluj, the leading scorer of the previous season netted two goals, contributing to a 3-1 victory.
Angelescu: “One or Two Players Will Leave”
He stated, “One or two players will leave, and we will bring in one or two more. For instance, a central midfielder. We have already added a left-back and a forward.”
Angelescu further indicated that approximately two players are likely to exit the squad by the end of the transfer window, mentioning the possibility of a central midfielder joining from Genoa during his appearance on the show “Fotbal Club” on DigiSport.
He later discussed Alex Dobre’s situation, saying, “We have not received any offers from Turkey for Dobre, or any offer that meets our expectations. There is a chance he may leave, but if that does not happen, he will stay with us. He is a very important player. He needed a strong performance, like the one he had against CFR, and I believe this collaboration with Daniel Pancu is beneficial for him.”
Angelescu praised the new forward, Filip Stojilkovic, stating, “He is very combative, exactly what we were looking for. We waited to find a striker who suits Daniel’s preferences and fits the profile desired. He is tenacious, skilled with both feet, and a true scorer. He played in Serie A last season and has considerable experience. He can also play with his back to the goal. From what we have observed, he is a complete striker. We will see how he performs in these matches.”
