Kennedy Boateng Joins Al Fateh with Record Salary After Leaving Dinamo

Kennedy Boateng, a 29-year-old former central defender for Dinamo, has officially joined Al Fateh, a top-tier team in the Saudi Arabian league. The Togolese player turned down an extension offer from the Romanian club, opting instead for a lucrative contract in the Gulf region.

Dinamo was prepared to offer Boateng approximately €30,000 per month, but the Saudi club’s proposal is nearly seven times greater. Reports from Turkey indicate that his salary will be €2.5 million net per season, translating to about €200,000 monthly.

Career-Best Contract for Kennedy Boateng

Turkish journalists have revealed the financial details of this transfer as Boateng was also on Kocaelispor’s radar. However, the Turkish club abandoned negotiations due to the player’s salary demands.

Boateng has signed a two-year contract with Al Fateh, which means he will earn a total of €5 million during this agreement.

At Dinamo, he earned around €180,000 annually, making this move to Saudi Arabia the most significant contract of his career thus far.

At Al Fateh, Boateng will be teammates with Mihai Lixandru, a midfielder who was transferred this summer from FCSB for €600,000.

Reports also suggest that Kocaelispor had made Boateng a key target during the transfer window, but negotiations stalled due to his salary expectations.

“Kocaelispor’s management opted against pursuing Boateng due to his salary demands and shifted their focus to other options. His new destination is Al Fateh, a first division team in Saudi Arabia,” Turkish journalists noted.

Boateng has played for two seasons at Dinamo, making 75 appearances, scoring 8 goals, and providing 2 assists. According to Transfermarkt, the central defender is valued at €1.2 million.
