RIVIERA MANGALIA Unveils New Tourism Identity for Romanian Coast

The Mangalia Destination Management Organization (OMD) has officially introduced the RIVIERA MANGALIA tourism concept, characterized by the slogan “Riviera din Inima Mea” (Riviera from My Heart). This initiative will consolidate seven renowned resorts: Olimp, Neptun, Jupiter, Cap Aurora, Venus, Saturn, and Mangalia under a unified identity.
The new promotional strategy emphasizes that vacations are defined not by the distance traveled or the number of days spent at the beach, but by the enjoyable experiences and emotions that encourage tourists to return. The motto, “Riviera din Inima Mea,” reflects a sense of belonging nurtured by generations of visitors to the Romanian southern coast.
Inspired by the well-known song “Mare Albastră,” performed for over 37 years by Daniel Iordăchioae, this communication campaign aims to evoke nostalgia for summers spent at the sea, a place where memories and emotions blossom, bringing tourists back year after year.
The RIVIERA MANGALIA launch, themed “United Under the Same Sun,” includes an extensive program of events and unique experiences. The first major project is Neptun Arena, a venue designed for live concerts, dance performances, children’s shows, gastronomy events, and thematic festivals organized along the Riviera Mangalia.
“Together with tourism operators and our member associations, we aim to enhance the experience for tourists visiting the southern Romanian coast. This year marks our first step with numerous concerts and festivals, and starting next year, the Venus, Jupiter, and Cap Aurora resorts will undergo a rehabilitation program,” stated Paul Foleanu, the acting mayor of Mangalia.
The artistic program will feature established artists alongside emerging talents, ensuring that every vacation evening is transformed into a memorable experience.
Simultaneously, the campaign “Riviera din Inima Mea” promotes the diverse offerings of the destination, including restored beaches and promenades, a variety of restaurants, spa centers, themed parks, attractions for children, and a rich cultural heritage intertwined with the region’s history, as well as water activities and numerous leisure experiences available along the southern coast.
“This historic destination aims to reinvent itself and become the top choice for Romanian tourists, and in the coming years, for foreign visitors as well,” remarked Dumitru Filip, destination manager at the Mangalia Destination Management Organization.
During the initial weeks of the 2026 summer season, activities in the area attracted approximately 60,000 participants, with organizers expecting significant growth during the peak season.
With the launch of RIVIERA MANGALIA – “Riviera din Inima Mea,” OMD Mangalia seeks to strengthen the southern Romanian coastline’s position as a destination offering not just beach vacations, but unforgettable experiences, culture, entertainment, and a wealth of emotions.
