Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has indicated that the country could present Russia with an annual bill of $2 billion regarding its railway operations. He stated that Armenia should have the autonomy to manage its railways, currently under Russian control, as it sees fit.
During a recent address, Pashinyan emphasized the necessity for Armenia to operate its own rail system, which he described as the nation’s property. He expressed a desire to resolve the matter amicably, but noted that if disagreements arise, arbitration may be pursued.
Pashinyan also pointed out the significant transit potential of the railway system, which is crucial for Armenia’s economic interests.
