Dinamo Triumphs Over Universitatea Craiova with 5-1 Victory

Dinamo achieved one of its most remarkable victories in recent years by defeating the reigning champions, Universitatea Craiova, with a score of 5-1 during the second stage of the Superliga. Following the match, Alex Pop, one of the goal scorers for Dinamo under coach Nuno Campos, held the first flash interview immediately after the final whistle, a new feature introduced this season.
Despite playing a full half with a numerical disadvantage, the “Dogs” took full advantage of the situation and delivered a true offensive recital.
Alex Pop on Dinamo’s 5-1 Victory: “No One Would Have Predicted This Score”
The Dinamo striker acknowledged that even the players were surprised by the significant margin against the Romanian champions and expressed gratitude to the fans for creating a vibrant atmosphere.
“If you had asked us before the match, I don’t think anyone would have predicted this score. It was a wonderful evening for the Dinamo supporters. We thank them for being with us. I believe we dominated the match from start to finish, and the score could have been even higher. The difference today was that we converted our chances into goals; we had similar statistics against Petrolul but didn’t secure the three points there,” said Pop.
Alex Pop dedicated his goal against Universitatea Craiova to the most important people in his life.
“I want to dedicate the goal to my wife and my daughter, who are here in the stands,” he stated.
Thoughts on Nuno Campos’ New System
Nuno Campos opted to play with two forwards, which Alex Pop believes benefits the attackers and that the team is increasingly adapting to this approach.
“I feel good in this system with two forwards. For us attackers, it’s easier than when we are isolated, as the responsibilities are shared. I think we are getting used to it gradually and will continue to improve. Like any change, it takes time, but it will be fine,” Pop explained in the flash interview with Digi Sport.
