Olimpiu Moruțan Sets Playoff Ambitions After Rapid’s Opening Win

Midfielder Olimpiu Moruțan of Rapid Bucharest shared his insights after the team’s 1-0 victory against Sepsi in the opening round of the Superliga. He expressed satisfaction with the team’s preparation and confidence for the season ahead.
Moruțan outlined the team’s primary goal: to qualify for the playoff stage. He stated, “We are happy for the three points. We had a very good training camp and wanted to start on the right foot. I don’t think we suffered during the game. We attacked aggressively, played offensively, and the goal came.” He expressed gratitude for the support from fans, emphasizing the importance of their encouragement during successful times.
“We are in good shape and hope to achieve several consecutive victories. I feel I am improving and hope to have personal successes as well. Our first target is playoff qualification, after which we will set new goals. It is a tough battle for the playoffs, and that is our focus,” Moruțan added.
Looking ahead, he mentioned the upcoming match against Craiova, stating, “I am not sure how strong they are, but I know they performed well last season. This is a new season, and we aim to play excellently and win.” Moruțan also expressed his joy at being trained by Gică Hagi at the national team, vowing to give his best to secure a place there.
