Russian Entrepreneur Seeks Trademark for ‘Spirit of Anchorage’ Perfume

A Russian entrepreneur has filed for a trademark for “Spirit of Anchorage,” a name linked to the summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump that took place in August 2025 in Alaska, according to reports from Russian media, cited by EFE.

The application was submitted on July 10 to Rospatent, the Russian intellectual property agency, as per TASS.

If the “Spirit of Anchorage” trademark is approved, it will encompass perfumes, colognes, and other fragrances.

Putin and Trump met in Alaska on August 15, 2025, marking their first high-level meeting since the Republican leader returned to the White House and the onset of the war in Ukraine.

The Russian side later lauded the meeting and the agreements reached at Anchorage, as it reportedly ended the diplomatic isolation of President Putin, according to Agerpres.

The Kremlin suggested that the “spirit of Anchorage” was intended to help normalize Russian-American relations and seek a resolution to the war in Ukraine.

However, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov recently remarked that the “spirit of Anchorage” is disintegrating, pointing to disagreements in resolving the conflict and the freezing of peace negotiations since February.
