Mass Farewell for Ali Khamenei in Tehran with Delegations from 30 Countries

Iran declares Khamenei’s funeral may be one of the largest in its history
According to Iranian authorities, delegations from approximately 30 countries are participating in the ceremonies for Ali Khamenei. Among the foreign representatives are officials from Russia, China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and several other nations. Reports indicate that at least eight heads of state and government leaders, along with parliamentary speakers from 12 countries, have arrived for the event.
Khamenei’s body has been displayed for public mourning at Tehran’s largest prayer complex, “Mosala,” where initial mourning events have already taken place. The Iranian government has declared a six-day period of mourning, with ceremonies occurring in multiple cities, including Tehran, Qom, and the sacred Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala.
Images from the event have been published by Tasnim news agency.
Reports from Kremlin-affiliated media suggest that Moscow sent former president and deputy head of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev to attend the funeral.
Iranian officials expect the funeral to be among the largest in the nation’s history, with estimates indicating that millions may participate in the ceremonies.
Organizers have announced extensive restrictions in Tehran, including the closure of government institutions, traffic blockades in the city center, and partial airspace closures.
After the mourning ceremonies conclude, discussions regarding future political steps in Iran are planned, including regional diplomacy and negotiations with the United States.
