Dramatic Rescue in Venezuela: 18-Day-Old Baby Saved from Rubble

Rescue operations in Venezuela are ongoing for the third consecutive day following two powerful earthquakes that have resulted in at least 920 fatalities and more than 3,360 injuries. Emergency teams continue their search for survivors trapped beneath the rubble.
Among those rescued was a newborn, who was pulled alive from the debris and joyfully reunited with his family, greeted by applause and cheers from the rescuers, according to reports from BBC and Reuters.
The 18-day-old infant was handed safely back to his father at the rescue site, a moment that brought a glimmer of hope and emotion to both the rescuers and bystanders in the area.
Shortly after the baby’s rescue, authorities announced that they managed to extract the baby’s mother from the wreckage as well.
Families Cling to Hope for Missing Loved Ones
Carlos Eduardo, aged 31, is reported missing under the rubble. His family has been calling out for him for two days, hoping for a sign of life.
“About an hour and a half ago, I heard him. He didn’t speak, just made some moans,” his cousin shared, visibly emotional. Since then, Carlos has not responded.
Rescue teams from Spain, equipped with specially trained dogs for survivor searches, arrived at the site but eventually withdrew after failing to find signs of additional survivors.
Despite this, Carlos’s family has refused to leave, continuing to remove debris with their bare hands in the hope of finding him alive.
