Julian Alvarez Expresses Desire to Transfer from Atletico Madrid

Julian Alvarez, the 26-year-old forward for Argentina, made a surprising announcement following his team’s 2-0 victory over Austria. He stated that he is prepared to leave Atletico Madrid once the World Cup concludes.

During the match held in Dallas, the spotlight was on Lionel Messi’s double and the new record he set. However, Alvarez’s comments in the mixed zone have sent shockwaves through Spain.

Alvarez’s Bold Statement: “A Transfer Would Be Best”

When asked about his future, the striker admitted to having discussions with Atletico Madrid’s management and is considering a departure this summer. He stated, “It’s not the time to speak about this, but I cannot hide; I’m trying to be honest. I have spoken with Atletico Madrid’s management, and I believe a transfer would be best for everyone. I want to fulfill my dream.”

Barcelona Emerges as Alvarez’s Preferred Destination

Reports from Spain indicate that Alvarez is keen on transferring to Barcelona. Two weeks ago, Real Madrid made an offer of 150 million euros for the forward, but Atletico Madrid rejected it.

Atletico Madrid is unwilling to part ways with the Argentine international, stating that the only way he could leave is if his release clause of 500 million euros is met.

Barcelona has reportedly made an attempt to sign him with an offer of 90 million euros plus an additional 10 million in bonuses, which was also turned down.

Spanish media suggest that the Catalan club is preparing a new bid of around 120 million euros, expected after the World Cup.

Since joining Atletico Madrid, Julian Alvarez has made 106 appearances, scoring 49 goals and providing 17 assists.

According to Transfermarkt, Alvarez’s market value stands at 100 million euros.
