Laurentiu Reghecampf (50 years old) is about to return to Tunisia and take over his former team, Esperance. The Romanian coach, who has been at Al-Ahli since August 2025 Omdurmanarrived in Tunis today and should finalize the final details of the contract.
Mercato specialist Rudy Galetti announced a few hours ago that “Laurentiu Reghecampf is expected to be announced as the new coach of the Espérance de Tunis team in the next few hours.
The Romanian coach arrived in Tunis yesterday to finalize the last details, focusing on the return to Espérance, despite interest from other North African clubs”.
Reghecampf left Tunis in March 2025 after spending 24 matches on the technical bench of Esperance, to which he was appointed in early November 2024. Laurentiu managed to win a trophy with the North African club, the Tunisian Supercup. And they would return to fight for more trophies.

Reghecampf won at TAS and must take 500,000 euros from Esperance Tunis, for wrongful dismissal!
The local press confirmed the information that Laurentiu Reghecampf traveled to Tunisia and is already negotiating with Esperance officials, who made him the offer to take over the team.
The coach, who left with a scandal 15 months ago, won the case against Esperance at the TAS and, as GSP.ro also wrote, he must collect the sum of 500,000 euros.
The current technician of the Sudanese team Al-Hilal Omdurman has complained that he was unfairly dismissed by Esperance Tunis, with whom – in an unusual situation – he is now discussing to return to the technical bench, not knowing what will happen to the club's debt to him.
On the other hand, Al-Hilal Omdurman conveyed to Reghecampf that he would like to continue the collaboration with the Romanian coach and would have made him a proposal in this regard. The Sudanese press wrote about a new contract, with a salary of one million euros per year, an offer to which no response has yet been received.
Sources from Africa claim that Laurentiu Reghecampf has, in addition to the Esperance Tunis option, the opportunity to train in Algeria, at Belouizdad or at MC Alger.
