President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky arrived at the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, which was damaged as a result of night shelling from the Russian Federation, Suspilne reports.
Zelensky examined the consequences of the shelling and spoke with journalists.
In particular, he said that the Lavra needs to be quickly mothballed, and the government will allocate funds from the reserve fund for this.
“What would you say to Putin after this attack?” – the journalists asked him. “And we’ll say more,” Zelensky replied, the video was published by the Telegram channel “Novini. Live.”
The shelling occurred on the second day after the birthday of US President Donald Trump – and the illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated him. When journalists drew attention to this sequence, Zelensky suggested that Putin was counting on such an attack.
“So that he would not be able to justify himself. Therefore, if there was a massive attack, the president’s team [США] and he himself, I think, would have raised this question. Why does Putin need these questions while congratulating the US President? Therefore, as always, he absolutely cynically congratulated the US President and after that launched a massive blow to Ukraine. I think it's no coincidence. For several days they not only assembled missiles, they waited – so as not to do this before the congratulations of the US President,” Zelensky said.
