According to hydrologists, the warning concerns the Cricovul Sărat river – the lower course, in Prahova and Ialomita counties, the Buzău river on the downstream sector of the Banita hydrometric station, in Buzău and Brăila counties, as well as the Râmnicu Sărat river, in the basin downstream of the Puiesti hydrometric station, in Vrancea and Buzau counties.
Between June 13, 9:00 a.m. and June 14, 12:00 p.m., as a result of the propagation of previously formed floods upstream, increases in flows and levels are forecast on the rivers in the mentioned hydrographic basins, with possible exceeding of the attention quotas.
Hydrologists recommend monitoring the evolution of the hydrometeorological situation and specify that the forecast will be updated depending on the evolution of the phenomena.
On Friday, strong storms affected several counties in Romania, leaving behind floods, destroyed roads and significant damage, including in agriculture.
In Bacău county, in the town of Cucuieți (Dofteana commune), a stream blocked by alluvium overflowed and destroyed the local road, after the branches gathered at a footbridge amplified the flow of water, according to ProTV News.
Locals say that the water level has exceeded one and a half meters, and many have remained isolated in their homes out of fear.
In the commune of Dărmanesti, the water entered the households, and the firefighters intervened with motor pumps to evacuate it.
