Former president of South Korea sentenced. He will spend 30 years in prison

Together with the former president, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison former Defense Minister Kim Yong Hjun. The commander of military counterintelligence, Jo In Hjong, was sentenced to 15 years, and General Kim Jong De, who directly commanded the operation, received a 3-year prison sentence, suspended for 5 years.

The sentence for 65-year-old Jun Suk Jeol is in line with the request of the special prosecutor's office.

The court rejected the defense line that argued that the drone operation was a legal response to the garbage balloons previously sent by Pyongyang and was unrelated to plans to impose martial law.
