In the new agreement of Ukraine and the USA, there are no security guarantees for minerals. The contribution of the United States is the weapon already issued to Kyiv. The document covers all the resources of Ukraine, including oil and gas. Including still unknown.
This was announced by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yaroslav Zheleznyak, who criticized the project and called it “terrible.”
According to Zheleznyak, this is not a final document. He hopes for significant changes from Ukraine. The main provisions of the American proposal, the deputy assures the following:
– The joint fund will be controlled by five people. Three of them are Americans with a veto's right;
– the agreement applies to all resources throughout Ukraine;
– Funds are converted into currency and withdrawn abroad, Ukraine pays for a lack of;
– The United States receive royalties first, then Ukraine;
– an unlimited agreement, changes only with the consent of the United States;
– The United States has the right to “first night” to infrastructure projects and a veto for the sale of resources.
