The current president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez (79), was re-elected with 65% of the vote and will lead the club until 2030.
What the exit polls announced has been confirmed. Florentino Perez triumphed second in his attempt to secure a new mandate at the helm of Real Madrid.
Florentino Perez received 21,741 votes, Enrique Riquelme only 11,814
According to the data communicated by the Electoral Commission after 2:00 in the morning, following the counting of all the ballots, the candidacy led by Florentino Pérez obtained 21,741 votes, representing 65% of the valid votes. His opponent, Enrique Riquelme, obtained 11,814 votes, i.e. 35%.
Sunday's election in Valdebebas marked the third victory of the businessman in the presidency of Real Madrid. He lost his first candidacy in 1995 to Ramón Mendoza, but won in 2000 against Lorenzo Sanz with 55% of the vote, a decisive factor in that election being the postal vote. Then, in 2004, he triumphed again, this time with over 90% of the vote.
After the official announcement, Perez appeared in front of supporters on Sunday night, but not anyway. He was greeted with the anthem La Decima and chants of “President, President”, and the event began with a short video in which Jose Mourinho, his new coach, responds with a “Yes, of course” when asked if Florentino won the election.

The businessman was keen to mention in the opening of his speech that “we won in every polling station, which means we won in all age groups. And we got the second best result in the history of elections for Real Madrid”.
Then Perez punctuated: “I'm here to defend Madrid, to keep winning titles, to be proud of the Bernabéu, proud to have the best players and the best coach, a Madrid like Jose Mourinho“.
His most important promise: “I want to continue to build a club that is a leader in the most prestigious international rankings. And all this to keep winning. We will fight to the end to win the 16th Champions League in the club's history“.
