Flight delays, air pollution, lack of internet. St. Petersburg is expecting new “consequences” of SPIEF

On June 3, amid a drone attack on St. Petersburg by the aggressor country Russia, almost 30 flights were delayed, and mobile Internet did not work. The St. Petersburg public page “Paper: everything about St. Petersburg” informed about this.

The Federal Air Transport Agency announced temporary restrictions on flights. Flights were delayed for more than two hours, nine planes diverted to alternate airfields, the report said.

The channel also drew attention to the deterioration of air quality in St. Petersburg, which was reported by the AccuWeather service. At 11.00 there was already talk about high levels of air pollution. Photos and videos posted online showed a large fire and a high column of smoke rising above it.

Subscribers of the public reported that during the drone attack, mobile Internet was limited in the city; people could not download even websites from the “white list” that are allowed in the Russian Federation. The internet was restored immediately after the shutdown. DownDetector data showed a decrease in the number of relevant complaints during the same time. In the comments on the service’s website they not only stated the absence of the Internet, but also announced further shutdowns, linking them with the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) and drone attacks.

“SPIEF started and drones immediately appeared. There is no mobile Internet,” wrote one of the users.

“SPIEF is in St. Petersburg. We will be without the Internet for three days,” another suggested.
