The Ilfovenians prevailed, score 3-0, and returned to the first echelon (5-3 overall). After this match, we know the 16 teams that will play in the 2026-2027 League 1 season.
To the 13 teams that have already ensured their presence in the next edition of the Super League, either from the play-off or from the play-out, are added the three promoted teams from League 2: Corvinul Hunedoara, Sepsi OSK Sfântu Gheorghe and FC Voluntari.
The 16 teams that will perform in the next Superliga season
The formations that evolved in the Superleague play-off, 2025-2026 edition: Craiova University, the champion of Romania, will represent our country in the preliminaries of the Champions League.
The University of Cluj will play in the Europa League preliminaries after finishing in 2nd place, as the Oltenians also won the Cup, while CFR Cluj and FCSB go to the Conference League preliminaries. Dinamo, Rapid and FC Argeș finished in 4th, 5th and 6th places.

FCSB (8th place in the play-out) will play in the European cups because they won the Conference League play-off against Dinamo (4th place in the play-off), score 2-1.
The teams that ensured their direct rescue from the play-out: UTA Arad, FCSB, Oțelul Galați, FC Botoșani, Csikszereda and Petrolul.
Farul Constanța saved itself after the barrage with Chindia Târgoviște, in the penalty shootout, while Hermannstadt was relegated after losing the one with Voluntari, 3-2 in the round, respectively 0-3 in the return leg.
Unirea Slobozia and Metaloglobus finished in the last two places and were relegated to League 2.
Corvinul Hunedoara finished first in B and returns after 34 years on the first stage of Romanian football, while Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe finished 2nd and returned after one season.

Following the decision of the Emergency Committee of the FRF of May 8, 2026, at the request of the LPF, the starting date of the 2026/2027 Superliga season was changed to the weekend of July 18-19, 2026, instead of July 11-12, 2026 as originally set.
Also, the date of the Romanian Supercup will be July 11, 2026, instead of July 4, 2026 as originally set

The winter break will occur after the matches of stage 20, scheduled for December 19-20, 2026. Then, the Super League will resume on January 16-17, 2027.
The play-off and play-out will start on 20-21 March 2027. The 10th leg of the play-off will be played on 29-30 May 2027.
