Smart Barometer 2025. What does the average Pole's phone look like?

More and more people decide to use their phones for longer periods of time, and purchases are motivated mainly by necessity, not fashion or promotion. What may also be surprising is the reluctance to repair devices, even though damage to them is common.
Changes in attitudes towards smartphones reflect broader consumer and technology trends. The longer life cycle of phones is the result of rising prices, expectations regarding durability and smaller differences between subsequent models.
Smart Barometer 2025. What does the average Pole's phone look like?
The Smart Barometer 2025 report, analyzed by Aboutmarketing.pl, shows that as many as 73 percent Poles use only one phone, and the number of people with two devices has dropped to 18%.
More and more users stick with the same model for more than three years. New smartphones still dominate the market (90 percent of purchases), and we most often buy them from operators or in electronics/appliances stores.

Why do Polish men and women exchange phones? The Smart Barometer 2025 report quoted by Aboutmarketing.pl shows that the most common reason is a failure (47 percent of respondents) or a decline in battery performance (44 percent). Purchases under the influence of a promotion (17%) or on the occasion of the premiere of a new model (4%) are much less common.
More than half of Poles do not repair phones
Android remains dominant (85%), while iOS accounts for 12%. market. At the same time, most purchase transactions (90%) still concern new smartphones, and less than 8%. users choose used smartphones.
The above-mentioned report also showed that more and more people integrate smartphones with TVs (43%) and car systems (32%). Bluetooth headphones, smartwatches and speakers are popular, but interest in smartbands is declining.

Falling a smartphone is an everyday occurrence – as many as 39 percent Poles admit that they have damaged their phone at least once, and 76 percent cases, the screen was damaged. Despite this, more than half of users do not decide to repair it, fearing the costs.
Meanwhile, screen repair is usually 30-40 percent. price of a new device. New EU regulations introduce cheaper parts, longer availability of components and extended warranty after repair.
“These data clearly show that Poles are increasingly buying smartphones 'out of necessity'. The increase in prices, the expectation of durability and smaller technological differences make the life cycle of devices longer,” comments an expert from IQS, which prepared the report commissioned by bolttech.
