The police reported that 13 people were detained as part of the “Gamberria” operation, and over 1 million euros in cash was taken over. According to CMTV television, one of the suspects is an employee of the Consular Department of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The officers emphasized that the criminal group facilitated the legalization of the stay of thousands of immigrants, many of whom are currently in other EU countries.
