The agreement with Iran is not yet ready. “I don't make bad deals”

“If I make a deal with Iran, it will be a good and appropriate one, not the one Obama made, which gave Iran massive amounts of CASH and an open path to nuclear weapons,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, referring to the Iran deal from which he withdrew during his first presidential term.
“I don't make bad deals”
“Our agreement is the exact opposite, but no one has seen it or knows what it is like. It's not even fully negotiated yet. So don't listen to suckers who criticize something they know nothing about. Unlike those before me who should have solved this problem years ago, I don't make bad deals!” – argued the president.
American Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that day that the United States was ready to start serious talks about the Iranian nuclear program after Iran opened the Strait of Hormuz.
“You can't settle the nuclear issue in 72 hours,” Rubio said during his visit to India. “The straits must be opened immediately and then we will begin, based on the agreed parameters, very serious talks about enrichment, about highly enriched uranium and about their promise never to have nuclear weapons,” the US foreign minister added.
This statement indicates that the Trump administration is prepared to accept a tentative agreement with Iran that does not immediately address the issue of Iran's ability to produce nuclear weapons, the New York Times noted.
Rubio suggests resuming threats
Rubio suggested that the United States was ready to approach the talks in stages. As critics of this solution claim, it may weaken Trump's negotiating position. “It can't take years, but it will take some time to work through these technical issues,” Rubio said.
Neither the United States nor Iran has publicly disclosed details of the agreement. But on Sunday, one U.S. official said there was agreement in principle on the deal, which includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz and an Iranian commitment to divest its stockpile of highly enriched uranium. Iran has not publicly commented on these reports or confirmed the information regarding uranium.
Rubio hinted that the US may resume threats to attack Iran if negotiations fail to produce results within two months.
Earlier on Sunday, Trump announced that the US blockade of Iranian ports would be maintained until an agreement with Tehran was reached. He also emphasized that he was in no hurry to conclude the agreement because – as he argued – time was on the US's side. However, a day earlier, the president announced that the agreement with Iran had been largely negotiated and its final details were being discussed. He announced that the agreement would be announced soon and that it would lead to the opening of Hormuz, which has been blocked by Iran since late February and early March.
