Fill it with water – and all the neighbors will envy the riotous flowering of the geranium. Feeding recipe

Water your geranium with rice water once every two weeks, and it will bloom to the envy of all your neighbors. The author of the blog “Gospodinka” shared the secret of preparing top dressing.

“My geranium blooms non-stop – I apply this natural fertilizer once every two weeks, and the balcony is covered in flowers until the fall,” the blogger shared. “I use a simple natural fertilizer that can be easily prepared at home from just a few ingredients. Just 1 tablespoon of rice is enough to get an effective fertilizer for flowers.”

Ingredients for rice fertilizer:

  • 1 tbsp. l. rice;
  • 1 tbsp. l. Sahara;
  • 500 ml hot water.

Preparation of fertilizer

  1. Grind the rice in a coffee grinder or blender until it becomes flour.
  2. Place rice flour and sugar in a jar, fill with water and close the lid tightly. Place the jar in a warm place for three days.
  3. After steeping, strain the mixture through cheesecloth or a sieve to remove any remaining rice. Dilute the finished fertilizer with water in a ratio of 1:5.
  4. Water the geranium with the prepared solution at the root on slightly damp soil. One medium pot requires 150 ml of fertilizer. Repeat once every two weeks in the morning or evening when there is no strong sun.

“After such watering, the geranium begins to grow green mass faster, produces new buds and blooms longer. Rice is very useful for plants, because it contains silicon, phosphorus and iron, which help the geranium to grow actively and bloom for a long time. I noticed that after such feeding, the leaves become juicier, and the plant itself produces new flower stalks faster,” the blogger noted.
