Dorinel Munteanu (57 years old), Hermannstadt's coach, was confident before the match with FCSB in the last stage of the Superliga play-out.
Hermannstadt is in the direct relegation spot before the last stage, being tied on points with Unirea Slobozia, which has the advantage of having finished the regular season in a higher position. The Sibians need a better result than the one that the Ilfovenians will record at home against UTA Arad.
However, Unirea Slobozia did not receive the League 1 license for the next season and is still waiting for the decision from TAS. The team that will rank higher between Slobozia and Hermannstadt will play the play-off in the first league against FC Voluntari.
Dorinel Munteanu, before Hermannstadt – FCSB: “We have a lot to give to this club”
“We are facing the last game. We didn't want to be in this situation we are in now, but we have to accept it. We have a difficult game in front of us with the team in first place in the play-out.
I need a positive attitude, especially after the last game, which was very bad in every way. I want a reaction from the players, not only sportingly, but also in terms of attitude. We have a lot to give to this club. If the results will be positive for us, we will certainly think about the play-off matches as well.
I'm not doing any calculations, I'm just thinking about this match. Our situation from the point of view of the batch is a very difficult one. For several weeks we have had 13-14-15 players in training. I told them to have a positive attitude and to fight until the final whistle of this championship.
I don't care what happens in Slobozia. It's an opportunity, without being mean, but it's not up to us. It depends only on them, on their organization. If they don't get the license, we are ready to play the barrage”, said Dorinel Munteanu, in the press conference preceding the matches with FCSB.
Regarding the matches in the last stage of the League 2 play-off, “Neamțul” scored: “We've got them, I'll watch if that's the case. I haven't watched the game live. As long as we have a chance, we believe in it. We'll see if it's a tie or not.”
In a match against FCSB, in the situation we are in, I don't think we need any extra motivation for the players. We have to win, believe in our chance. I always wanted the team I lead to be helped by the fans. I hope there will be as many people as possible at the match, to believe in us. If we all think alike, I'm sure we'll succeed.
