The pace of growth in valuations of the largest technology companies has significantly accelerated in recent years. Nvidia, whose chips power both computer games and artificial intelligence systems, was the first company in history to exceed $5 trillion in October 2025. capitalization. Today this result is even higher.

A company bigger than any economy in Europe
In terms of value, the technology giant is ahead not only of Germany, but also of the other largest European economies: Great Britain (USD 4.26 trillion), France (USD 3.6 trillion), Italy (USD 2.74 trillion) and Spain (USD 2.09 trillion). Moreover, Nvidia's capitalization exceeds the sum of the GDP of the 19 smallest countries of the European Union, which is USD 5.02 trillion.
This is not an exception, but part of a broader trend. Alphabet and Apple are also valued higher than most European economies. However, Microsoft and Amazon are larger than the Italian economy.
For comparison, the United States' GDP is $32.38 trillion and China's is $20.58 trillion.

Five companies bigger than
The picture of the entire sector is even more telling. The total capitalization of five US giants – Nvidia, Alphabet, Apple, Microsoft and Amazon – reaches approximately USD 20.8 trillion. This is more than the combined GDP of Europe's five largest economies, which together generate approximately USD 18.1 trillion.
Several technology companies today have more “market weight” than the largest European countries combined.

European companies are far behind American giants
On the other side of the Atlantic, it is difficult to find an equivalent of this scale. The largest European company is the Dutch ASML, a manufacturer of integrated circuits, with a capitalization of USD 610.69 billion. The next places are taken by Swiss Roche, valued at USD 335.1 billion. and British AstraZeneca for $286.84 billion. This shows a structural weakness in the European tech market – a lack of companies able to compete globally on valuation and impact.
