Arne Slot (47 years old), Liverpool's coach, said he was disappointed with his team's performance after another away defeat, 2-4 against Aston Villa.
After his Premier League title-winning debut season, Arne Slot has repeatedly angered Liverpool fans this season with the Cormorants' tactical decisions and disappointing performances.
Arne Slot on Liverpool losing another away game: 'It's not the first time this season'
“After 2-1, the game slipped through our fingers. Before that, I think we started well in the first 10 minutes of the second half, then we controlled the game, but without creating any chances. But it's not the first time this season.
At 1-1, we came close to taking a 2-1 lead and then the way we got the goal to make it 2-1 is something we haven't seen before this season.
This season we have conceded many goals that you would hardly believe unless you experienced them, and that is exactly what happened today. After that, Villa were the better team and the game slipped away from us.
It's not about me or how disappointed I am. It's disappointing for everyone involved at the club: players, staff and, above all, the fans.
It's disappointing for footballers who are back in the game, and in football you can slip up (no re: Dominik Szoboszlai), but it's such a shame. It's probably part of our season. We know what we have to do next week”, said Arne Slot, according to sportal.bg.
This was Liverpool's eighth away defeat of the season, their worst away performance in 14 years.
“In principle, teams have more difficulties on the road, but for a top team like ours, these are too many defeats and lost points.
This is largely due to the fact that the goals we get are generally too easy. We have chances, but this season we are not as effective in finishing as we were last season.
It doesn't help that Isak hardly played for us or that Ekitike wasn't available. This is the situation. We are fully focused on the match against Brentford next week,” added the coach.
