A Krasnoyarsk resident with many children had their car taken away for drunk driving

In Krasnoyarsk, a father of three children was left without a Ford Focus for repeated drunk driving.
The first time a 37-year-old driver was caught drunk driving was at the end of 2024. The court deprived him of his license for 1.5 years and fined him 30 thousand rubles. The man was supposed to submit his driver's license within three days, but did not do so and did not pay the fine.
Only in the fall of 2025 did the man appear at the traffic police and hand over his driver’s license. But that evening he drank, got behind the wheel and drove around the city. An hour later, a vigilant passerby noticed him and called the traffic police. The breathalyzer showed 1.17 mg/l – this is 7.3 times higher than the permissible limit.
“In court, the man asked not to take the car, referring to his three young children. But the law does not give a second chance to persistent traffic violators: for repeated drunk driving, the vehicle will be confiscated, even if it is the only one in the family,” the prosecutor’s office said.
As a result, the court sentenced the Krasnoyarsk resident to 200 hours of compulsory work, deprived him of his license for another two years, and confiscated the Ford Focus to the state.
