The Ministry of National Defense is conducting the MOBEX AB‑HD‑26 mobilization exercise from May 11-15, a broad check of how the population, economy and territory are prepared for defense situations. The activities take place simultaneously in Alba and Hunedoara counties and involve both military structures and civil institutions.

According to MApN, MOBEX AB‑HD‑26 is organized “in cooperation with the National Administration of State Reserves and Special Issues, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Romanian Intelligence Service, the Special Telecommunications Service and the National Administration of Penitentiaries”.
“During the exercise, some of the reservists residing in the two counties, included in the mobilization plans, are called to military units to participate in specific training activities, in accordance with the legal provisions in force“, stated MApN, on Monday, in a statement.

At the same time, the National Administration of State Reserves and Special Problems, a specialized structure of the Government of Romania in the field of preparing the economy and the territory for defense, carries out, together with the local public administration authorities, public institutions and economic operators from Alba county with attributions in the field, specific activities to verify the way of fulfilling their responsibilities, according to the law.
One of the important moments of the exercise will take place on Wednesday, May 13, when the reservists will participate in a training sequence in the Micești shooting range, in Alba county”.
Three MOBEX exercises in 2026
Such exercises have been organized in the past, in Alba county in 2016 and in Hunedoara county in 2018. MOBEX is organized “based on the provisions of Law No. 477/2003 on the preparation of the national economy and the territory for defense and of Law No. 446/2006 on the preparation of the population for defense”.
Three exercises of this type are planned in 2026: AB-HD (May), NT-SV-BT (September) and Buc-IF (October).
The authorities draw attention to the emergence of false information and specify that these activities are routine and not related to the security situation in the region. It also recommends that citizens seek information from official sources.
