On May 9, in Lviv, law enforcement officers detained a man who, while escaping from employees of the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCC and SP) and the police, took a 13-year-old child hostage. The press service of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported this on Telegram.
The incident occurred on Kavaleridze Street.
According to investigators, a 43-year-old man, running away from TCC employees and law enforcement officers, ran up to a group of teenagers. “Having grabbed a 13-year-old girl, he put a knife to her throat. Thus, he held the child, limiting her movement,” the report says.
TCC and SP servicemen warned about the use of weapons, after which the man released the girl. He was detained.
According to investigators, he was previously convicted several times for property crimes.
The child did not receive any injuries.
