The weather is deteriorating across the country. The head of ANM announced when the first storms are coming

After a period of summer temperatures, the weather changes radically starting today. Meteorologists announced Thursday strong storms, electrical discharges, hail and wind intensifications in several regions of the country, with the phenomena expected to extend from Friday to the rest of the territory.
The head of ANM, Elena Mateescu, explained to Antena 3 CNN that the high temperatures during this period favor storms and that the first rains are expected from tonight, especially in the west, center and north of the country, but also in the mountainous areas.
“Today, in the western, central-northern part of the country, starting from the night and during the afternoon, in the mountain area, we can have amounts of 15-20 l/m2 at points, the showers will be accompanied by electrical discharges, isolated hail and last but not least, intensification of the wind with gusts of 40-50 km/h, and in the mountains speeds higher than 50 km/h”, said Elena Mateescu.
The director of the National Meteorological Administration specified that the temperatures remain high on Thursday, but there will be fewer degrees in the thermometer in the areas where there will be storms.
“Today we will continue to have warm weather, with values of 20 to 29 degrees Celsius, but lower values in the areas of the western half, where the phenomena of instability will also be present, with maximums of up to 22 degrees, while in the south we will have temperatures above 25 to 28 degrees Celsius,” said Mateescu.
According to the head of ANM, from Friday the weather will cool slightly, and atmospheric instability phenomena will expand in most of the country.
“In the south, southeast and east of the country we will record values of 15-20 l/m2 and this signal of instability phenomena will be of interest at least until the end of this week”, indicated the director of ANM.
Maximum temperatures will drop to between 15 and 26 degrees Celsius, and forecasters warn that the unsettled weather will continue at least until the end of the week.
