Victor Angelescu, the president and minority shareholder from Rapidofficially confirmed the departure of Mauro Pederzoli at the end of the season.

As GSP wrote on March 18, the Italian brought in 2025 will part with the white and cherry at the end of the season. After initially refusing to make an announcement to this effect, Angelescu has now conveyed, a month and a half on, that the Italian sporting director will be leaving the team.

Victor Angelescu: “Pederzoli leaves Rapid”

Another sports director has already been brought in his place. It is about Marius Bilașco, who resigned from CFR Cluj. Asked about Bogdan Mara, the former collaborator of Bilașco in Gruia, Angelescu said that he will not arrive in Giulesti.

“Mara is not coming. Marius Bilașco is the sporting director. Mauro Pederzoli is leaving, Marius Bilașco has arrived as sporting director”said Victor Angelescu, at Prima Sport 1.

Pederzoli came with a lot of experience, he implemented things that are not necessarily visible. Transfers are seen in the press, but transfers are maybe 15-20%, and the rest is related to everything that happens on the sporting side.

Before Pederzoli, Rapid's sporting director was Daniel Sandu. He was then demoted as head of scouting and left the club this year, going to Toulouse.

Bogdan Mara, about whom Angelescu was asked, left CFR Cluj and is in talks with Dinamo, where he could end up starting in the summer.

I haven't seen Pederzoli say anything since he came to Rapid, to say something, to respond to something in his capacity as sports director at Rapid. I have nothing against him, but…

They are not necessarily management errors. The pressure goes directly to the team, there is no one to take it. Look, I had 10 scandals with Mihai Stoica, but every time there was something around the FCSB, he came out and argued with everyone, to take the pressure off the team. At Rapid there is no one to talk. Angelescu also comes out, but that's it.
