In the Krasnoyarsk Territory they are preparing to ensure security during the celebration of Victory Day.

According to the police, on May 9, festive events will cover more than 300 settlements in the region.

“The necessary checks will be carried out at all sites. The territories are inspected in advance by dog handlers, employees of the Russian National Guard and other specialists. In addition, transport access to the event venues will be limited.” – said Deputy Chief of Police for Public Order Ivan Myglan.

Particular attention will be paid to areas with large crowds of people. Residents are asked to arrive early for events, especially if they plan to attend events at the St. newspaper “Krasnoyarsk Worker”. According to organizers, a sudden influx of people in a short time can create dangerous situations due to dense crowds.

Citizens are also reminded that weapons, liquids, flammable substances and unmanned aerial vehicles will not be allowed into the festival grounds. Scooters and bicycles will also not be allowed at event venues.

In addition, additional restrictions will apply in the region. According to the Governor's Decree No. 361, the use of pyrotechnics is prohibited on May 8 and 9. The sale of alcohol will also be limited, with the exception of catering establishments.

Parents are advised to closely monitor their children and not leave them unattended in crowded places.

The head of the traffic police, Sergei Molyavko, called on Krasnoyarsk residents, if possible, to refrain from traveling by personal transport to Krasnoyarsky Rabochiy Avenue.

“It’s better to use public transport,” he noted.

Krasnoyarsky Rabochiy Avenue will be closed from 14:00 on May 8. Restrictions are related to inspection of the territory before festive events. Areas on Yunosti Avenue and Semafornaya Street will also be closed. Traffic will be redirected along Michurin and Volzhskaya streets.

From May 7 to May 13, traffic police patrols will be intensified in Krasnoyarsk. Cars left in the restricted area will be evacuated to the parking lot of the OK store.

Those who still plan to travel by private car are advised to choose the route via the Three Sevens Bridge. However, the departments emphasize that the most convenient option on holidays will be public transport or walking.
