It turns out that the social security system provides specific assistance in such situations. The Social Insurance Institution pays the so-called a training pension that supports changing professions and returning to the labor market. This solution is dedicated to those who want to retrain but can no longer perform their current duties.

The financial aspect of the benefit is important, although its amount depends on the circumstances of the health loss. The minimum amount of this benefit is PLN 1,483.87 gross per month (75% of the assessment basis).. However, this is not the upper limit. If your inability to work in your current capacity is due to an accident at work or an occupational disease, support increases. Then the benefit is 100 percent. basics, i.e. PLN 1,978.49 gross.

It is worth remembering that this pension is not granted indefinitely. The standard time to acquire new competences is six months, but if courses or school require more time, this period may be extended to 30 months (36 months in total). However, there is a key restriction: you must not be in gainful employment while receiving funds. Taking up employment will mean readiness to work and will result in withholding the pension.
Who can apply for a training pension?
Not every patient will receive such measures. The key is the decision of the certifying doctor who states that a given person cannot continue working in his or her profession, but at the same time there is a possibility of regaining the ability to work after changing qualifications.. This is an offer for people who, despite physical limitations, have the potential to find themselves in a new professional role.
An additional requirement is insurance experience. Its length is closely related to the applicant's age at the time of health problems. For example, when the incapacity for work occurred before the age of 20, the contribution period must be at least 1 year, but in the case of people over 30 years of age – 5 years.
To apply for funds, you must submit an ERN application along with medical and professional documentation. Even though the procedure requires formalities, the game is worth the candle – for many people it is the only way not to permanently leave the labor market.
