Gică Popescu, the majority shareholder of Farul Constanța, came with a reaction after the scandal of the second goal of the University of Craiova in the derby with Dinamo, score 2-1, in stage #7 of the Superliga play-off.
Gică Popescu was extremely irritated by the manner of refereeing in this Superliga season and is of the opinion that the ranking hierarchy was made based on refereeing mistakes. Farul Constanța is in 12th place in the Superigii play-out with 25 accumulated points, with two stages before the end. The Constantinians are trembling for the maintenance in League 1.

“Unfortunately, this year has been littered with many, many refereeing mistakes. Very many! And what is even more worrying is that I have the feeling that we have VAR for nothing. If the referees want to make a mistake, they do it with seven VARs. At Farul, we have so many examples that if I were to take each one separately, I would only do myself harm.
And here we are in a delicate situation also because of these refereeing mistakes. So I don't understand why we have VAR if they don't have the guts to step in when the center referees make a mistake! I'm talking in general, I'm not strictly referring to last night's game. We are victimized at the Lighthouse, and not just once. I wonder: Why do we have VAR?! I don't even want to remember it anymore, because it only hurts me. But why do we have VAR if it doesn't intervene when central players make mistakes? This season there were a lot of refereeing mistakes which, unfortunately, influence the place in the ranking”, Gică Popescu said, according to prosport.ro.
What I have noticed is that it is always the same teams in favor of which mistakes are made. You should do some analysis and see that what I am telling you is true. It is always wrong in their favor.
Here, we have no power. If we go out, we get fined and suspended. This is a matter that belongs to you, the media, and you have to take a stand, because it can't be done anymore! The ranking cannot be made based on refereeing mistakes, it's not normal!
