The police told how many drunk drivers were caught over the holiday weekend in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

Over the past three days in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, traffic police inspectors detained 169 drunk drivers.

Among the violators were 9 motorists who had previously been brought to administrative responsibility for driving while drunk.

The police also suspended 28 unlicensed drivers from driving vehicles who allowed themselves to get behind the wheel while intoxicated.

Three accidents occurred over the holiday weekend due to the fault of drunk drivers.

“Administrative materials have been drawn up against the offenders for driving while intoxicated. Now those who drive drunkenly face a fine of 45 thousand rubles, as well as deprivation of rights for up to 2 years. For repeated driving while intoxicated, drivers will face criminal prosecution under Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” said the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
