Cristi Chivu (45 years old) became a champion with Inter on Sunday evening, in Italy, and finally revealed what he did immediately after the final whistle, when he was seen “bullet-walking” towards the tunnel as his players started the fiesta on the pitch in front of over 75,000 fans.
The pressure and emotion of such a moment spoke for themselves, and the Romanian technician, who wrote history in Milan, went to the locker room for a few moments, immediately after the success, even if his students and fans had started the celebration in the stadium.
Asked what was the reason for his withdrawal from the limelight, Chivu candidly admitted that he went to smoke a cigarette before he could get the party going.
Cristi Chivu, after the match: “I went to smoke a cigarette”
“I went to smoke a cigarette, I have a few vices, I apologize for that. But yes, they deserve it, and so does the club, who always tried to console us and support us in times of need.
I'm an unusual person, I had to talk to myself at some point between life and death, so that's when I lost my ego. I don't feel the need to talk about myself”, confessed Cristi Chivu, at the end of the game.
6coaches who were champions in the first season in Inter's history before Chivu: Virginio Fossati (1909-1910), Nino Resegotti (with Francesco Mauro, 1919-1920), Alfredo Foni (1952-1953), Gianni Invernizzi (1970-1971) and Jose Mourinho (2008-2009)
Inter celebrated the title with “Made in Romania”.
Shortly after the final whistle of the match won with Parma, score 2-0, from the speakers on “Giuseppe Meazza” the song “Made in Romania” was heardperformed by Ionuț Cercel.
The Romanian song conquered the internet two years ago, despite the fact that it was released in 2008. Hakan Calhanolgu, one of Inter's stars, declared then that “Made in Romania” was his favorite song.
The players went with Cristi Chivu in front of the fans to thank them for their support this season, from which Inter can also win the Italian Cup, where they will meet Lazio in the final.
Then, a real fireworks show took place at the legendary stadium in Milan, crowning the historic success of Cristi Chivu on the bench of Inter.
The party continued in the locker roomwhere Chivu ditched his jacket and unshackled himself in a champagne bath.
