Ukrainian Defense Forces hit the Russian missile ship “Karakurt” and port infrastructure in Primorsk, Leningrad region of Russia. Vladimir Zelensky announced this on May 3 on Telegram.
The head of the Ukrainian state said that the acting head of the SBU, Major General Yevgeny Khmara, reported to him about the successful defeat of the Primorsk port facilities.
“Minus another Russian carrier of Kalibr,” Zelensky wrote.
This was a joint operation of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Forces, the Main Intelligence Directorate and border guards, the president said.
In addition to the Karakurt, a patrol boat and a tanker of the shadow “oil fleet” of the Russian Federation were also hit. Significant damage to the oil port infrastructure was also recorded.
“I have agreed with the Security Service of Ukraine on additional quite fair responses to Russian attacks on our cities and villages. Russia can end this war at any time. Prolonging the war will only lead to an expansion of the scale of our defensive operations,” the head of state emphasized.
In the morning, the governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, reported that the region was subject to a massive drone attack. Monitoring channels wrote that the port of Primorsk could be under attack.
