A case of domestic violence taken to the extreme took place in Italy, where a woman is accused of drugging her husband and cutting off his penis with a knife after she found out he was cheating on her.

An episode of unimaginable violence shocked the community in the town of Angri, in the province of Salerno, where a 41-year-old man was mutilated by his own wife. The Italian authorities opened an investigation, and the 35-year-old woman was arrested and risks spending many years behind bars.
According to the Italian media, citing sources in the file, the conflict between the two spouses, both of Bengali nationality and settled in Italy for several years, would have smoldered after the woman found out that her partner had an extramarital affair. Amid tensions, she planned a gesture of extreme revenge.
During a meal, she put drugs in her husband's food and, after he fell asleep, took a knife and cut off his penis.
The victim woke up suddenly due to intense pain and, although in a critical condition, managed to get out of the house and ask for help from the neighbors, who alerted the emergency services.
Several medical and police crews arrived at the scene, which quickly intervened.
The vengeful wife was arrested by the carabinieri, being transported to a detention facility in Salerno, and the castrated husband was rushed to the Umberto I Hospital.
