The joint project of Rosseti Siberia and Siberian Generating Company won the All-Russian Investment Award in the category “Best Infrastructure Project”. The winners were presented with the award on April 29 at a ceremony within the framework of the Caucasus Investment Forum.
The “Siberia Charges” project is aimed at developing the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and is being implemented within the framework of the state Concept for the development of electric transport in Russia until 2030. To date, the project has resulted in the opening of 82 electric charging stations in Krasnoyarsk. For SGK and Rosseti Siberia, the victory in the prestigious award was the result of a synergy of efforts for the benefit of residents.
“The “Siberia Charges” project began 5 years ago, then the number of electric vehicles in Krasnoyarsk was scanty. The development of charging infrastructure began with the construction of fast charging stations in large parking lots of shopping centers. Then the project became closer to people. Electric charging stations were opened in the courtyards of residential buildings. This has become a driver for the growth in the number of electric motorists. We see that electricity consumption at the joint electric charging stations of Rosseti Sibir and SGK is steadily growing. Thank you for your high assessment and support of the project! This inspires us to develop it further. We are confident that the future lies with eco-infrastructure,” commented co-author of the project Mikhail Kozyrev, chief expert of the department for development of services at Rosseti Siberia.
“We will be implementing the project to install charging stations for electric vehicles starting in 2021. This is a logical continuation of the Company’s systematic work to reduce the burden on the environment and improve the quality of life of Krasnoyarsk residents. Today Krasnoyarsk is the leader beyond the Urals in the number of electric filling stations. 82 stations are located in all districts of Krasnoyarsk, at key points of attraction. The Vershina Award is an assessment of the daily work of a huge number of people – workers in the energy industry of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. This motivates for new projects,” said Igor Zagorodniy, head of development programs at SGK.

According to the summary calculations of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, in 2025, transport will account for more than 4 thousand tons of emissions in Krasnoyarsk. These emissions are concentrated in the ground layer and are therefore most noticeable to residents. According to the same calculations, at 37 of the 44 observation points operating in the city, transport is one of the key sources of pollution.
The government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is working to reduce this impact: it is increasing the share of buses running on gas engine fuel and electric buses in the passenger transport fleet. Rosseti Siberia and SGK, as part of the Siberia Charges project, are contributing to the development of infrastructure for electric transport and increasing the level of environmental well-being of Krasnoyarsk.
