Trump's call with Putin was the first publicly announced phone call between the two leaders since March 9, nine days after the United States and Israel began their war on Iran.

As the US president said, the conversation was mainly about the war in Ukraine, but the leaders also discussed Iran.

The US president was said to have reacted positively. Last year, Putin announced a similar ceasefire that lasted three days but was not agreed with Kiev.
