Mojtaba Khamenei does not control the situation in Iran. There are new reports

Modjtab Khamenei, who took over power from his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed at the beginning of the war between Israel and the United States with Iran, remains in hiding, surrounded by doctors. Among them are the President of Iran, Massoud Pezeshkian, a trained heart surgeon, and the former Minister of Health of Iran, reports “NYT”, citing numerous Iranian sources.
Mojtaba Khamenei has undergone several surgeries and is waiting for a prosthetic leg. The new leader, who has not been seen in public since taking power, communicates with the world only through handwritten messages, delivered by couriers who travel to his hideout on motorbikes and in cars via back roads.
Mojtaba Khamenei is to rule Iran together with his commanders
The most important decisions in matters of security, war and diplomacy are made by “battle-seasoned” commanders of the Iranian army. “Mojtaba Khamenei runs the country as if he were the head of the supervisory board,” says Abdolrez Dawari, who served as an adviser to former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in an interview with “NYT.”
According to the daily's interlocutor, the new leader relies on the opinion of his advisers, decisions are “made collectively”, and the members of the “supervisory board” are generals.
“NYT” indicates that the new leader does not fully control the situation in the country. The influence of military commanders has strengthened at the expense of the clergy, the newspaper points out, based on interviews with representatives of the current and former Iranian authorities, the army and people who know Mojtaba Khamenei.
The consolidation of the influence of high-ranking commanders of the Iranian army was influenced by their attitude after the death of Ali Khamenei. It was the generals who supported the new leader, who therefore “rarely, if ever, opposes their opinion,” we read.
