CTP, after the president's call for calm: “Well, you can fall into the abyss very calmly, without screaming, without waving your hands”

Cristian Tudor Popescu declared on Wednesday evening that he was not at all reassured by the call for calm that President Nicușor Dan launched in the context of the political crisis and criticized the way the head of state approaches the situation, saying that he “should be decisive”, not equidistant.

Nicușor Dan called for calm, this evening, in his first statements after the talks he organized in Cotroceni with the leaders of the governing coalition following PSD's decision to withdraw political support for liberal Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.

“Nicușor Dan didn't calm me down at all”

In a subsequent intervention on B1 TV, Cristian Tudor Popescu commented on the president's statements, saying that they did not reassure him at all.

“It should calm me down, right? Me and the other citizens of this country, following this speech. Nicușor Dan didn't calm me down at all, “calm and we'll get through this”. Well, you can stay calm and fall into the abyss very calmly, without screaming, without waving your hands”, said the journalist.

He claims that “it is unacceptable to say about the PSD that it is a pro-Western party” and criticized the leader of the social democrats, Sorin Grindeanu.

Nicușor Dan, CTP added, “was voted precisely not to collaborate with AUR and with the “other AUR”, which is now PSD”.

The journalist accused the social democrats of “breaking everything, not only the coalition, they are breaking Romania, they don't care”.

“Do you know why they don't care? Because they want Romania to be broken. They want Romania to become the black sheep, practically excluded, from the European Union, because then it falls into their hands and they want to rule an isolated Romania, a poor Romania, a Romania that depends on their alms”, Cristian Tudor Popescu also declared.
