O'KEY hypermarkets may close in Krasnoyarsk by the end of the year

In Krasnoyarsk, O'KEY hypermarkets may stop operating until the end of 2026. As Gorod Prima writes, citing its own sources, points of another federal retailer will presumably open in their place.
In the network’s official group on social networks, the administrator stated that he did not have such information, and everyone was working as normal. However, in the store itself on Sibirsky Lane, cashiers and managers are already warning customers about the imminent closure. According to them, after May 17, the hypermarket will undergo renovations, and a store of another chain will open at the end of June. The store in the Planeta shopping center will be open until about the New Year.
Employees are promised to keep their jobs. They will be transferred to the new network to the same positions with the same salary, but the work format will change – cashiers will serve only self-service cash registers. Many people are not happy with this, since at a regular checkout they had more freedom and fewer hassles.
Sources attribute the closure of stores to a change in ownership of the chain. In 2025, Luxembourg-based O'KEY Group SA sold the business to Russian management. Later, 99% of the authorized capital was bought by the Tyumen company Zemun, which is engaged in the wholesale trade of products. The deal was approved by the Federal Antimonopoly Service.
The first O'KEY hypermarket in Krasnoyarsk opened in 2008 in the Planeta shopping center. Later the chain expanded, but today there are only two stores in the city – in Planet and in Sibirsky Lane.
