The concert of rapper Kanye West, currently performing under the pseudonym Ye, scheduled for June 19 in Chorzów will not take place. Superauto.pl representatives of the Silesian Stadium justify the cancellation of the performance on formal and legal reasons.

Kanye West caused outrage, among others. promoting Nazi ideology and anti-Semitic posts.
“We would like to inform you that the concert of Ye (Kanye West) scheduled for June 19, 2026 at Superauto.pl. Silesian Stadium will not take place due to formal and legal reasons” – this statement appeared on Friday after 16 on the Superauto.pl Facebook profile of the Silesian Stadium. They were signed by the facility's director, Adam Strzyżewski.
The statement did not provide any additional information. Until this message was sent, the stadium representatives did not respond to PAP's questions sent a few hours earlier. Unofficial information that on Friday the decision was made for Superauto.pl Stadion Śląski to terminate the contract with the concert organizer was previously reported by the Katowice “Gazeta Wyborcza”.
Minister of Culture Marta Cienkowska wrote on Thursday on the X website that the decision to organize Kanye West's concert in Poland is unacceptable.
“We are talking about an artist who publicly expressed anti-Semitic messages, relativized crimes and made money by selling T-shirts with swastikas. These are not 'controversies',” she pointed out. – We have the ability to block the entry of specific people into the country – said Cienkowska, referring to West's planned performance in Poland.
Maciej Wewiór, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized in a post on X that the Ministry of Diplomacy was concerned about the announcement of the organization of Kanye West's (Ye) concert at the Silesian Stadium. “We support the position of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, recognizing that providing public space to an artist using anti-Semitic rhetoric and openly glorifying Nazi ideology is deeply inappropriate in a country with Polish history,” he wrote.
Wewiór assessed that organizing this event in Poland would harm the good name of our country, and creative freedom does not constitute consent to spreading xenophobia and hate speech.
Kanye West is one of the most famous rappers in the world. He has been controversial for several years with his statements and behavior. The greatest outrage was caused by a series of anti-Semitic posts on social media in which he glorified Nazi ideology. West was also criticized for selling swastika T-shirts and publicly expressing admiration for Adolf Hitler.
The artist maintains that his media antics were the result of a deepening mental crisis. He confessed that he had a manic-psychotic episode.
He recently canceled his concert in Marseille, France, indefinitely. Opposition to this performance was expressed by, among others: local authorities. He was previously refused entry by the British authorities, where he was supposed to perform during one of the summer festivals in London.
West's concert in Poland was organized by Projekt Hałas!.
