In Krasnoyarsk, a local resident will stand trial for stealing money from a friend’s bank card.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region said that a man contacted the police duty station with a statement about the theft of 100 thousand rubles from his bank card.

According to the Krasnoyarsk resident, a friend of his lived in his apartment for some time and had a fight with his wife. One day he came and said that he had made peace with his wife and was moving out. The next day, the victim discovered that money had been withdrawn from his account. He immediately became suspicious of a friend who did not answer phone calls.

“Having carried out a set of operational measures, the police established the location of the suspect – a previously unconvicted resident of the regional center. As law enforcement officers found out, while the man was staying with a friend, they bought groceries together several times, and the attacker knew the PIN code for his friend’s card. Taking advantage of the fact that no one was watching his actions, he took the card and transferred money from it to his account, spending it on personal needs. During the investigation, the damage caused to the victim was compensated in full,” the regional police clarified.

Based on this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code “Theft”. The investigation has now been completed. A preventive measure was chosen against the thief in the form of a ban on certain actions.
