The police uncovered the theft of jewelry from a 32-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk.
The crime was committed in April – a gold necklace with diamonds, a ring and earrings worth a total of about 353 thousand rubles disappeared from the woman’s apartment.
The victim's 32-year-old ex-lover, with whom she previously lived and recently ended her relationship, came under suspicion.
“OVD officers located the man and detained him. It turned out that a previously unconvicted Krasnoyarsk resident came to the apartment while his former partner was in the hospital and stole jewelry, which he later sold to a pawnshop and spent the money on personal needs. Law enforcement officers managed to find and seize a stolen necklace worth 302 thousand rubles, which was returned to the victim. The woman thanked the police for their efficiency and professionalism,” said the Krasnoyarskoye Ministry of Internal Affairs.

A criminal case was opened against the attacker under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft” and chose a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place and proper behavior. The court may punish him a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles, or forced labor for a term of up to 5 years, or imprisonment for a term of up to 6 years.
